What Moves You In Your Relationship?
Dump Him
Relationships are hard - it's just that simple. However, are you making excuses to stay with the "man of your dreams"? So often, I see my sisters in Christ settle for mediocracy and the man you choose to date/marry should not require settling. You are so valuable, beautiful, and you are worth fighting for!
If any of these bullet points sound like an attribute of the person you are with, I encourage you to think and pray about saying "goodbye."
I am praying that you realize your worth!
I encourage you to pray with this list, and if any of these apply to your relationship, I also pray that God gives you the courage and bravery to walk away with faith in God's divine plan for your life - a plan that will provide you with so much peace and joy!
"For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope."Jeremiah 29:11
Prayer for ending a negative relationship:
Dear God, I have loved well but not too wisely. I’ve given my heart to someone who has not honored that gift and I realize this relationship does not serve either of us. Please give me the courage and strength to end this relationship gracefully. Help me to forgive, heal and move on with my life so that I may open the door to new happiness. Amen.
If any of these bullet points sound like an attribute of the person you are with, I encourage you to think and pray about saying "goodbye."
- You feel the need to fix him
- He watches porn
- He is abusive
- He leads you away from God
- He puts you down
- He cheats on you - He lies to you
- He does not support the time you spend with your friends and family
- He blames his problems on others
- He does not value your purity
I am praying that you realize your worth!

Marriage 101
Today (January 13th), my loving and godly parents will celebrate 26 years of marriage! Not only do I want to dedicate this post to their holy marriage, but I also want to share with others the fruits that have been revealed to me through their vocation.
If I were to list all the amazing things their marriage has taught me, we would be here for hours; therefore, I am going to share with you three important values that I have learned from their vocation which I will implement into my future marriage.
1. Prayer
Marriage is a sacrament, it is as simple as that. Since marriage was established by God, it is kind of important to honor Him in every aspect of your married life. My parents definitely kept Christ at the center of their marriage, so much so, that it was common place to see them praying together throughout the day. They recognized that their relationship was founded in Christ and they allowed room for Him to work in every aspect of their life, even in the struggles. I remember one particular night when heartache filled our home, as they wept, they began to pray that Our Lord and Our Lady consume their hearts so that even through their suffering, they can praise Christ in his resounding goodness - WHAT AN EXAMPLE!
I have followed their lead and continue to pray with Rogelio (my boyfriend) every single day. Even when we are apart, we pick up the phone and praise Jesus for our joys and sufferings, We run to him in times of consolation and desolation.
2. Forgiveness
Although there were times in my parents marriage where they needed to allow the Holy Spirit to work in their hearts to forgive one another, I saw their forgiving nature more beautifully through their interactions with me and my brother. As imperfect children, there were many times where we disappointed our parents. However, through their vows of motherhood and fatherhood, they, like Jesus, always welcomed us back with a warm and loving embrace and assured us that we were loved by them and Our Lord.
3. Laughter
Anyone who knows my family knows that we tend to be the "class clowns." We love to play practical jokes, dance horribly and make funny faces in order to bring joy to others. There were so many times when I would look at my parents while they were cracking up and pray for the same joyful marriage. In our lives, there will be many hardships, but we must not loose sight of the incredible joy that comes from God. My parents are the most perfect example of pure joy and "childlike faith;" not only in God, but in one another.
Thank you, mom and dad for teaching me so much about Christ through your marriage. Thank you for being an example of Christlike sacrifice to every soul you meet, You have changed the lives of so many people, including mine. I am so blessed to be your daughter!
Happy 26th wedding anniversary!
I love you

What they don't tell you about chastity
We as Christian women of this generation are so incredibly blessed; we have so many beautiful men and women of faith who practice the virtue of chastity, who we can look up to. However, being a young, unmarried woman, here is something that I wish they told us women who are striving for virtue: chastity is hard.
Saint John Paul the Great loved to talk to young people about sex - yes I just said sex. He wanted young people to feel comfortable with knowing who and what the Lord created us for.
The Lord created us for many reasons, but ultimately He created us for love. You've been told this before; God loves us so much that he would send his only son to die for us. As Christians, we think, "That's nice." But stop! Think about that for a second, God sent his son out of love for us, so that in turn, we can imperfectly love Him and others - THAT'S AWESOME!
But as I previously mentioned, we cannot and will never be able to love perfectly, and God understands that. So, what happens to us?
What happens is that we are drawn to sin and beauty all at the same time. There is a battle going on within us every single day.
Sex is good! The Lord recognizes that and encourages it within the sacred bond of marriage. Even Saint John Paul the Great said in Theology of the Body, "Where the heart goes, the body wants to follow."
So, it is important that we guard our hearts and continue to ask Our Lord and Our Lady to give us the grace to fight the good fight for the souls of our brothers, sisters and ourselves. However, I am drawn to the point that so many chastity speakers fail to highlight: CHASTITY IS HARD and CHASTITY IS A BATTLE!
When your hearts and bodies are being drawn to a particular person, please remember that there are many men and women who have struggled through the same situation and have conquered sin and death and ran into the light.
Sin is tempting and it seems so exciting and fun, but I can promise you that the next morning, emptiness and sadness will fill you and guess what? God will still be right beside you to love you and cherish you in your wounds.
It is never too late to start a life of purity.
If you have given into temptation in the past, please know that Christ is with you in your brokenness and He wants to carry you out of it, please allow him to do so.
And if you have been fighting the devil for your purity, please continue to fight. Everyday, I wake up and decide to live a life of purity and there is not a moment that passes that I regret my decision. There are moments of difficulty, but not of regret.
It will be hard, but Christ, Mama Mary, and a legion of angels are right beside you, so go out and fight the good fight! It will be worth it.
Prayer for purity:
"Jesus, Lover of chastity, Mary, Mother most pure, and Joseph, chaste guardian of the Virgin, to you I come at this hour, begging you to plead with God for me. I earnestly wish to be pure in thought, word, and action in imitation of your own holy purity.
Obtain for me, then, a deep sense of modesty which will be reflected in my external conduct. Protect my eyes, the windows of my soul, from anything that might dim the luster of a heart that must mirror only Christlike purity.
And when the "Bread of Angels becomes the Bread for me" in my heart at Holy Communion, seal it forever against the suggestions of sinful pleasures.
Heart of Jesus, Fount of all purity, have mercy on me."
